1903-36 - Edward Radford senior worked at Pilkington Potteries, Manchester - His mark was an incised ETR

1905 - Saw Edward Radford junior (E Radford) commence at Pilkingtons

1917 - E Radford was awarded the Military Cross for his actions as a Captain in the WWI

1920 s - E Radford's water colour, art deco style became popular working for HJ Wood, English Staffordshire

1930s - started his own pottery Radford Handcraft Pottery - most marks became 'e radford, burslem'. During this time he became more a manager and employed designers

1948 - retired - although Woods continued to use e radford trademark but pieces now moulded instead of handthrown. These later pieces are often marked with a two-letter pattern no.

1969 - died donating his body to science.
