FOR WEDGWOOD ITEMS FOR SALE, PLEASE SCROLL DOWN PAST HISTORYJOSIAH WEDGWOOD1795 - founded by Josiah Wedgwood - prior to this known as Bentley & Wedgwood 1700s - developed Creamware (Queens Ware) in honour of Queen Charlotte - during this period also developed Rosso Antico / Black Basalt & Jasperware 1806 - introduction of lustre ware 1812 - first printed hallmark 1860 - majolica introduced 1875-85 - run of turquiose jasper 1891 - added England to hallmark 1995 - Known as Josiah Wedgwood & Sons Ltd 1912 - powder blue introduced 1953 - royal blue jasper introduced 1987 - merged with Waterford Crystal & renamed Waterford Wedgwood Enoch Wedgwood Enoch Wedgwood is a distant relative of the famous Josiah Wedwood Potteries founder. 'Podmore Potteries' became 'Wedgwood & Co' when Enoch Wedgwood took over the Unicorn Potteries in Tunstall, Staffordshire. His work is also of very high standards.
