TO VIEW SHELLEY POTTERY FOR SALE, PLEASE SCROLL PAST HISTORY SHELLEY POTTERY HISTORY 1872 began as Wileman & Co Joseph Ball Shelley joined the company later to develop foley china works for the export market. His son Percy Shelley later joined the company. 1890s saw a great development in the American export market Frederick Rhead was recruited as Art Director and developed the intarsio & Urbato ranges Also, during late 19th Century, Rowland Morris developed the Dainty White shape which was popular when it started in 1896, right through to it ending at close of the works in 1966. 1905 Frederick Rhead left to be replaced by Walter Slater 1910 - Shelley became the official china stamp 1920-30s saw the Nursery Ware range & Mabel Lucy Atwells Harmony range 1966 Shelley was taken over by Allied British Potteries who produced Royal Albert Pottery from these 'foley' works.
