1894 - The Sylvan Works were founded as Shaw & Copestake

1936 - became a Ltd company

1937 - the often used trade name of SylvaC began to be impressed on some of their wares

1938 - acquired the Thomas Lawrence Falcon Pottery

1964 - the 2 factories finally merged in a new building

1982 - went into liquidation and taken over by a co-operative society known as Longton Ceramics

1990s - finally taken over by Portmeirion Potteries Ltd
