MALING POTTERY HISTORY:

1762 - maling pottery founded by the French 'Malin' family in Sunderland, North England

1817 - transferred to Newcastle-upon-Tyne

At some point the French name was anglicised with the 'g' at the end

Also known as CT Maling & Sons

1926 - the designer Lucien Boullemier and improved the quality of lustre ware introducing the gold outlining

1963 closed down with 16,500 patterns to their name
